Is Beans Good For FSGS Patients

Is Beans Good For FSGS PatientsGenerally speaking, most of the FSGS patients know they need to have low protein and low potassium diet, but they really don’t know what foods should eat and should not eat in their realistic life. Is beans good for FSGS patients? Recently, many FSGS patients and their relatives consult us this question. We think the following passages may help them greatly.

The advantages of beans

Although beans belongs to plant foods, on the quantity and proportion, essential amino-acid contained in the protein is very close to animal protein. Besides, the amount of protein in beans is more than 35% and among them, the soybean protein is the best plant high quality protein, said by nutritionist. In addition, there are rich calcium, phosphorus, iron and vitamin B in the beans and all of these nutritions play an important role in people’ body. Moreover, beans also is considered as the best foods to prevent coronary heart disease (CHD), atherosclerosis and high blood pressure.

Is beans good for all of people?

The answer is no. As we all know that a low protein diet is highly recommended to the patients with FSGS. This is because high protein foods can increase extra kidney burden, which can accelerate FSGS to progress to kidney failure easily. Due to lots of protein in the beans, so patients with FSGS should limit the intake of beans strictly. At the same time, as our body needs protein to synthesize energy, patients with FSGS had better ingest some high quality protein to meet the physical demand, such as fish, lean meat, milk, chicken, but please remember, do not eat too much these foods.

Actually, is beans good for FSGS patients? This should depend on FSGS patients themselves, including their specific illness conditions, the common diet, therapy that are receiving now, etc. So if you want to know a certain answer about this question, please send your patient chart to igacure@gmail.com as soon as possible, our experts will work out a reasonable diet plan just for you.
