Treatment Options for FSGS Patients

Question: I am a 27 year old that has FSGS. I was diagnosed in December of last year. I have tried prednisone for 8 months and several naturopathic herbs from naturopathic doctors. I have also tried 20 treatments of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and IV infusions last month. I went from spilling 4 grams before prednisone to 11 after prednisone and am down to 9 grams a day after hyperbaric and IV treatments. My nephrologist wants me to take ciclosporin but I am researching other options.

Treatment Options for FSGS PatientsAnswer: From what you said, I can see that in order to control the state of illness, you have tried many kinds of therapies from the conventional steroid treatment to naturopathic herbs to hyperbaric oxygen therapy and IV infusions. But it seems that there is still no improvement to your medical condition. The protein in urine is still very high. If you want to try some other treatment, I can give you some suggestion.

FSGS is a severe kidney disease, which needs comprehensive treatment for long term. Only in this way can you repair the damaged kidneys and improve kidney function so as to reduce protein leakage. Traditional Chinese Medicine has thousands of history, which includes external therapies and oral Chinese medicine. Combined internal and external therapy shows good curative effect on kidney disease.

External therapies include Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy, Steam Therapy, Enema Therapy, Foot Bath, Full Bath, Circle Therapy and Moxibustion. And internal therapies include various decoction and Chinese patent medicine like Mai Kang. The medicine in these therapies changes over time as your condition changes. They can draw out toxins from the blood to reduce damage to the kidneys. They can also dilate blood vessels and speed up blood circulation to remove stasis and improve ischemia and anoxia. Besides, they can eliminate kidney inflammation by removing immune complexes from the blood. What is more, they repair the damaged kidneys and improve kidney function. A week later, you will find that foamy urine becomes less and you feel energetic.
