Alternative Medicine for FSGS

Alternative Medicine for FSGSPrednisone and cellcept are commonly used medicine for FSGS patients. Well, aside from them, are there any alternative medicines for FSGS? For this question, I am sure the answer is “Yes, there is alternative treatment for FSGS patients”.

Glucocorticoids and immunosuppressor for FSGS

Glucocorticoids like prednisone and immunosuppressor cyclophosphamide are the major medicines for FSGS patients and with these oral drugs, illness condition can be controlled well. However, the problem is when patients stop taking medicine or reduce medicine dose, FSGS relapses. What is worse, every relapse of illness will push patients closer to dialysis.

The importance of these medicines is indubitable, but it is unwise for patients to take the medicine as a long-term treatment, as long time application of these drugs will cause lots of side effects like hair loss, mood swing, moon face, low immunity and developmental retardation for children.

Alternative medicine for FSGS

Alternative medicine is a hope for FSGS patients, not only because it is more effective, but causes no side effects. The alternative medicine here we mentioning is micro-Chinese medicine which is not a simply herb, but a group of herbs. These herbs have different treatment effects in treating FSGS, and they can be used alone in some cases. However, clinical studies show by combining them, treatment effects become more obvious. What is more, no patients complain any discomforts after the usage of them.

Micro-Chinese medicine is just an alternative medicine for FSGS, but it does not mean FSGS can be cured with this treatment. FSGS is a chronic kidney problem which may progress to kidney failure stage if left alone. Micro-Chinese medicine can help to repair injured kidney intrinsic cells, but can not revive necrotic kidney tissues. Therefore, though effective, this alternative medicine can be only used by FSGS patients who still have a certain kidney function. Additional, as the earlier that FSGS patients take this treatment, the better the treatment effects, it is necessary for FSGS patients to have a timely diagnosis and treatment about their illness.
