Is There A Cure for FSGS

Question: I have had FSGS for about 10 years now and am tired of taking steroids. My micro albumin is 1217.9g. Is there a cure for this disease?

Is There A Cure for FSGSAnswer: FSGS is a kind of autoimmune disease mediated by immune cells. The infiltrating T cells in the glomeruli attack the kidney inherent cells directly or damage the epithelial cells by releasing vascular permeability factors. Steroids is often used to control proteinuria, but if used for long time, many side effects will appear. In the following, we make a general treatment plan for you. Hope it can help you.

Cyclosporin A can be used if your GFR is still above 60 ml/min. ACEI and ARB can be used to protect kidney inherent cells and promote regeneration of inherent cells. Your protein in urine is still too much, it means the immune reaction has not been well controlled. You have to take some immune blockers such as Tacrolimus or Sirolimus.

The next step is to remove the immune complexes depositing in mesangial region. For FSGS, the immune complexes mainly consists of IgG and C3. After an accurate diagnosis, we can give you an accurate information. Only when we remove the immune complexes deposited in the kidneys can the disease be fundamentally cured. Otherwise, once medicine is stopped, the immune reaction starts again and the disease relapses. Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy is to infiltrate the shattered Chinese Medicine into the kidneys through skin and channels on the back. Some of the medicine can promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis. Some can inhibit kidney inflammation. Some can degrade extracellular matrix to stop kidney fibrosis. Moreover, some can eliminate immune complexes from the blood and some can nourish qi and blood to strengthen immunity. With systemic treatment, your damaged kidneys can gradually recover and then you do not have to depend on steroids.

You said you have had FSGS for about 10 years. There may be kidney function impairment. The earlier you seek treatment, the more kidney function you can regain and the more possibility you can reverse your FSGS. We are a kidney disease hospital in China.
