How to Deal with Relapsing FSGS

Question: My mum has FSGS and has had a relapse. The protein in her urine is 1127mg and the creatinine levels are 201. She has been put back on steroids but is not reacting to them. What would you recommend?

How to Deal with Relapsing FSGSAnswer: Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a very severe kidney disease. Because as long as your glomeruli are scarred, no treatment can revive them. As we can see that her creatinine level is higher than the normal range (44-106 umol/L), which means that her kidney function has been impaired by FSGS. Therefore, she needs immediate treatment to prevent further kidney damage. Conventional treatment for proteinuria is to use steroids, which can inhibit kidney inflammation and decrease the permeability of capillaries to reduce protein leakage. But for people with the relapsing FSGS, steroid usually does not take effect, so you may have to change the medications or increase the dosage of medications. Here I recommend Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment, which has few side effects.

In TCM, there are many therapies, such as Mai Kang Composition, Medicated Foot Bath, Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy and various medicinal soup. They can expand blood vessels to increase blood flow into the kidneys. They can speed up blood circulation to remove stasis. They can lower blood pressure and reduce blood cholesterol. They can counteract the side effects of steroids. They can decompose the deposited immune complexes in the kidneys to eliminate kidney inflammation and degrade extracellular matrix to stop kidney fibrosis. All in all, they can set up a good blood environment for kidney self-healing and provide essential nutrients for the damaged kidneys to recover. When your kidneys regain their ability, protein leakage will be stopped and creatinine level will go back into the normal range. What is more, they can make your whole body harmonious and balanced so as to reduce the relapse of FSGS.

The information you give me is very general so that I can not give you a detailed treatment plan for the relapsing FSGS. If you would like more information, please send her medical test report to igacure@gmail.com. After analyzing her case, we will contact you.

Hope the above information is helpful for you. If you have any other questions on kidney disease or want to get more personalized and professional treatment suggestions, please leave a message below.
