What Can I Do to Stop FSGS Stage 3 from ProgressionFSGS stage 3 means your kidneys are damaged moderately. A person with stage 3 is more likely to develop complications of kidney disease, such as high blood pressure, anemia, and early bone disease. If you can not manage it very well, it may progress to the next stage quickly and then the complications you have will become more severe. What can I do to stop FSGS stage 3 from progression? In stage 3 FSGS, you should follow a healthy diet.

-Eating high quality protein, such as egg white, poultry without skin and lean meat. If you have massive protein leakage, you should limit the protein intake into 0.6-0.8 mg/dL.

-Lowering sodium intake if you have high blood pressure or fluid retention by cutting out processed and pre-packaged foods. Generally speaking, 3-5 g sodium intake can satisfy the need of body.

-You should also regulate the potassium, phosphorus, calcium and some other trace elements intake according to your conditions.

In stage 3 FSGS, you should take medications on time to bring symptoms under control.

The most common used treatment is to take western medicine. Steroids and other immunosuppressant are to reduce protein leakage. ACEI and ARBs are often used to lower blood pressure.
