The Development of IgA Nephropathy

IgA Nephropathy is asymptomatic in the early stage. Thus, many patients don’t realize it until they have obvious symptoms. If patients don’t pay high attention on those symptoms, such as Cola-or tea-colored urine, proteinuria, high blood pressure, edema and so on. IgA Nephropathy may develop into nephrotic syndrome, kidney failure and even uremia.

Nephrotic syndrome is a stage of IgA Nephropathy development. If massive protein occurs in the urine, patients will start to show the symptoms of nephrotic syndrome. nephrotic syndrome is a complicated renal disease with a group of symptoms caused by the heavy loss of protein in the urine. Edema can also appear in the extremities and abdomen.

If the IgA Nephropathy further progresses, the symptoms of renal failure begin coming out. The renal function reduces which leads to the metabolic wastes can’t be released completely. The rest toxicant substances deposits in the kidney area and continue to damage the ability of filtering. Patients in this stage may get edema, anemia, nausea, emesis, high blood pressure and blood in the urine.

The next stage is the last process of IgA Nephropathy. Comparing with other renal diseases, Uremia has the distinct difference. Patients with uremia nearly lose the whole renal function, which need to keep a living by the artificial kidneys. However, the artificial kidneys can only help body clean the metabolin and keep the balance of electrolyte acid-base and water. Another chose is kidney transplant, which is more difficult and also has risk and side effects.

IgA Nephropathy can be cured. Early discovery can make the diseases treat easily. People may pay high attention to their own abnormal symptoms.
