Is There A Cure for IgA Nephropathy

Is There A Cure for IgA NephropathyIgA Nephropathy (Berger’s Disease) is a kidney disorder in which immunoglobulin A immune complexes build up in the mesangial area of glomeruli. Is there a cure for IgA Nephropathy? Many patients have such a doubt. Now let’s have a quick look.

IgA Nephropathy can not be cured.

IgA Nephropathy is associated with the immune system. So far, there is not a treatment that can stop its progression to kidney failure. But there is treatment to slow down the progression to kidney failure.

IgA Nephropathy can be controlled very well with proper treatment.

In general, patients with high blood pressure, high urine protein and a significant amount of damage present in their biopsy specimen have a poor prognosis. Current treatment for IgA Nephropathy is to use steroids and other immunosuppressants to block kidney inflammation and reduce protein leakage and ACEI or ARBs to lower blood pressure. But that is not enough. We should also take treatment to cleanse those immune complexes from the kidneys. Immunotherapy is a combination of western medicine. It can cleanse the cycling immune complexes and inflammatory factors from the blood to eliminate kidney inflammation. It can increase the kidneys’ tolerance to immune complexes and block abnormal inflammatory reaction in the kidneys to prevent further damage to the kidneys. Besides, it can strengthen your immune system to help you fight against the disease and set up a good blood environment for kidney self-healing. All in all, Immunotherapy can help you protect your remaining kidney function very well and if your kidneys are not damaged totally, it can also help you promote kidney function to certain extent.
