List of Food Not to Eat with IgA NephropathyMedication treatment is important for IgA Nephropathy patients, but you should not ignore the diet. Diet does not only provide the essential nutrients for our body, but also help us control state of illness. In order to slow down to the progression to kidney failure, IgA Nephropathy patients are often required to avoid something. Food high in salt

For healthy people, the kidneys can pass the salt into urine. But when the kidney function is affected by IgA Nephropathy, the salt ends up in our bloodstream. Salt attracts water. Too much salt draws more water into the blood. More water increases the volume of blood which raises blood pressure. High blood pressure speeds up the progression to kidney failure and increases your risk of heart disease. Therefore, food high in salt should be avoided.

Plant protein

75 % of the human body is made of protein, so we have to consume protein to keep the normal function of our body. Protein is usually classified into two kinds, namely plant proteins and animal proteins. Plant proteins have low amounts of one or more essential amino acids and they produce many waste when resolved, which increases the workload of kidneys. While animal proteins such as egg white, lean meat and fish can provide all the essential amino acids your body needs, so you had better not eat plant protein and choose some animal proteins to eat.

Food high in fat

Fat plays an important part in your diet and health, but if you consume too much fat, it can increase your cholesterol level, so you should not eat food high in fat. But you can eat some unsaturated fat, such as fish oil and flaxseed oil.

According to your medical condition, you may not eat food high in potassium and phosphorus. If you would like a personalized diet plan, please contact online doctor or leave a message below.
