Inflammatory response is a normal condition, but if it lasts for a long time, our health condition will be affected. In cases of IgA Nephropathy, renal arteries are damaged due to severe and persistent inflammation. Narrowing of the renal arteries causes a low perfusion pressue, which can lead to renin secretion that causes the angiotensinogen conversion to antiogensin I. Umder the effects of enzyme, angiotensin I converte to angiotensin II which can cause vasoconjstriction. This is one of the causes for IgA Nephropathy patients to suffer from high blood pressure. Besides, with the increase of angiotensin II, aldosterone release increases, and this can cause water and sodium retention which is another cause for high blood pressure in IgA Nephropathy.
