Why I Have to Pee A Lot with IgA Nephropathy

Why I Have to Pee A Lot with IgA NephropathySome IgA Nephropathy patients claim they pee more frequently than usual after the diagnosis. So is there any relationship between this condition and IgA Nephropathy? If yes, how does they relate with each other?

Why do I have to pee a lot with IgA Nephropathy?

Kidney is always associated with urine changes as kidney is responsible for producing urine. IgA Nephropathy is a kind of kidney disease related with immune deficiency. In such a case, IgA and other deposition like C3 lodge in mesangial area and thus cause inflammatory response which can damage surrounding kidney tissues. Since glomeruli are in charge of filtering blood and meanwhile preserving nutrition, so when one is diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy, he always experiences protein leakage and hematuria. In our kidney, 99% of fluid filtered by glomeruli will be finally reabsorbed by renal tubules. However, for IgA Nephroapthy, when their renal tubules are injured, fluid filtered by glomeruli will be excreted as urine. This is the reason why some patients pee a lot when they are affected by IgA Nephropathy.

Other symptoms of IgA Nephropathy aside from frequent urination

Frequent pee is just one of the symptoms of IgA Nephropathy, aside from it, patients may also suffer from the all or some of the following symptoms:

1. Proteinuria: A presence of excess protein in urine.

2. Repeated hematuria (blood urine) which is always accompanied with back pain, belly pain and fever.

3. Elevation of blood pressure

4. Fluid retention: This symptoms firstly appears in eyelide, face, lower limb and testis for male.

All these symptoms, including frequent urination, appear due to impairment of kidney function, so only when kidney damages are repaired and kidney function is improved effectively, can these symptoms be alleviated or removed successfully. Immunotherapy is a treatment that is recommended for IgA Nephropathy patients. It is a combination of Chinese medicine and western medicine. The whole treatment process is divided into six steps and each of them aims at different treatment purpose. In this treatment, western medicines are firstly applied to bring illness condition under control and after that, Chinese medicines are used to repair kidney damages. When kidney function is strengthened, all the discomforts are alleviated. Also, situation they pee a lot disappears.
