Will IgA Nephropathy Cause Vomiting

Will IgA Nephropathy Cause VomitingSome IgA Nephropathy patients complain they vomit a lot when their kidneys are at their worst and this problem basically stops when their kidneys are improved. For this reason, they wonder if their vomiting problem is related with their IgA Nephropathy. Here in this article, we will give you the answer.

IgA Nephropathy is an illness that progresses over time. As glomeruli are firstly damaged in this illness, so it is regarded as a glomerular disease. In early stage of IgA Nephropathy, only a small percent of kidney tissues are involved. Under such a condition, patients may experience no physical discomforts at all. However, with the deterioration of illness, more and more kidney tissues will be damaged and then failed in functioning properly. In such a case, toxins which should be excreted with kidney will build up in the blood.

Creatinine and urea nitrogen are the most common two toxins that IgA Nephropathy patients heard. Actually apart from them, there are many other wastes like phosphoric acid, and sulfuric acid. When too much acidoid accumulate in the body due to impairment of kidney function, metabolic acidosis will be caused finally. Under such a circumstance, IgA Nephropathy patients suffer from poor appetite, weakness, deep breath and vomiting easily.

Besides, another common cause for IgA Nephropathy patients to experience vomiting is elevation of urea nitrogen in blood. Urea nitrogen is the metabolite of protein and needs to be discharged through kidney. When kidney function is affected due to IgA Nephropathy, urea nitrogen level in blood increases. Under the effects of urease, urea nitrogen will be decomposed. Ammonia is just one of the substances that are formed during this process. Ammonia stimulates gastrointestinal tract, leading to stomach and intestinal ulcers which can cause vomiting directly. Additional, in some serious cases, patients may even vomit blood.

Lastly, vomiting is a symptom of IgA Nephropathy in late stage and in such a stage, if we want to get this symptom alleviated successfully, we must effectively treat IgA Nephropathy. Besides, IgA Nephropathy can cause vomiting problem, but it is just one of the possible causes. For some IgA Nephropathy patients, they may also suffer from vomiting due to side effect of some medicines that they are taking to control kidney condition. Under such a circumstance, the management method will be totally different, so firstly finding out the real cause is very important.
