Is It Normal for IgA Nephropathy Patients to Be Extremely Short-tempered

Question: My husband was just recently diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy and we are told his prognosis is not good. He is at 30% kidney function. His blood pressure is out of control. Is it normal for him to be extremely short-tempered? He had been very moody and I am not sure what to make of it.

Is It Normal for IgA Nephropathy Patients to Be Extremely Short-temperedAnswer: Generally speaking, IgA Nephropathy (also known as Berger’s Disease) is a mild kidney disease, which usually develops many years to kidney failure. It results from IgA depositing in the kidneys. Those IgA and its immune complexes cause kidney inflammation, which over time cause kidney damage.

Short temper may stem from the prednisone.

Prednisone is the common used drug for IgA Nephropathy patients to inhibit kidney inflammation and decrease the permeability of capillaries so as to stop protein leakage. But it has many side effects if you use it for long-term, one of which is to make you have mood swing.

Short temper may be caused by the poor prognosis of this disease.

As we can see that you are told his prognosis is not good, which may make the patients disappointed. And then he loses his temper easily.

All in all, short temper is a very common phenomenon among IgA Nephropathy patients. In fact, with natural treatment, it is possible for them to have a good prognosis. High blood pressure is the one of the main factors that affect prognosis. If the conventional treatment such as ACEI or ARBs are not effective, you can use Interventional Therapy to dilate blood vessels so as to lower blood pressure. Besides, you can use Immunotherapy to protect the remaining kidney function. This therapy is a combination of western medicine and Chinese medicine. It can cleanse IgA and its immune complexes from the blood to reduce their deposition. It can block abnormal immune reaction to reduce the production of IgA and its immune complexes. It can increase the kidneys’ tolerance to immune complexes to prevent inflammation. Besides, it can regulate the abnormal immune system to help you fight against the disease. With the improvement of IgA Nephropathy, the patient will feel good.

Is it normal for IgA Nephropathy patients to be extremely short-tempered? Yes. The above information is very general. If you want to acquire a personalized treatment plan, please send your medical test report to igacure@gmail.com. After analyzing your case, our doctor will reply you.
