IgA Nephropathy, Kidney Failure, Dialysis 2 Years: Chance to Recover

Question: I have IgA Nephropathy and stage five kidney failure. I am currently on dialysis for 2 years. However, I pee very little. Is there a chance I can recover? My overall health is good. Thanks.

IgA Nephropathy, Kidney Failure, Dialysis 2 Years: Chance to RecoverAnswer: Hi, IgA Nephropathy in early stage is not life-threatening at all, but when it develops to kidney failure stage, life will be seriously threatened. You are on stage five kidney failure stage and so far there is no cure for chronic kidney failure, but please do not worry, there is still chance for you to recover because you still have some urine output.

One of the major jobs of kidney is to filter blood and during this process, wastes and excess fluid in the body will be removed out of the body as urine. You still can pass some urine, which means you still have some healthy kidney function. Under such a condition, there is chance for effective medicines to flow into kidney with blood to repair kidney damages.

Dialysis helps to keep blood clean by filtering blood outside the body with a machine. This is helpful, but unfortunately, it can not repair kidney damages, so kidney function keeps declining, which present as decrease of urine output. You said you can pee very little now and if you do not take your last chance to repair kidney damages, no urine will be produced in your body finally. I am sorry to tell at that time there is no chance for you to recover.

As of now what you can do is to tightly control all the symptoms that may worsen your kidney condition like high blood pressure, proteinuria, anemia, etc, and then on the absis of this, repair injured kidney intrinsic cells. You can try Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy which is a herbal treatment. It can help you activate injured kidney intrinsic cells and strengthen residual kidney intrinsic cells. With the help of this treatment, your kidney function can be increased. When kidneys work better, excess fluid in the body will be removed and urine output is increased. Also, you need to do dialysis regularly, because your damaged kidneys can not help to cleanse blood any more, so when your impaired kidney function is increased greatly, you can get off dialysis under doctor’s direction.

Lastly, as an IgA Nephropathy and stage five kidney failure patient, please remember as long as you still can pass urine, you have chance to improve kidney condition. And also, the earlier that you take treatment, the better the treatment effects.
