IgA Nephropathy: How Do You Keep Creatinine Levels Within Normal Range

IgA Nephropathy: How Do You Keep Creatinine Levels Within Normal RangeIgA Nephropathy is a benign kidney disease, which usually develops many years to kidney failure. During this course, creatinine level is often used to measure how well your kidneys are working. How do you keep creatinine levels within normal range? After reading this article, you will find the answer.

The normal range of creatinine is 0.5-2.0 mg/dL. Under normal circumstance, creatinine level does not increase. When your kidneys are slightly damaged, their potential capacity can be tapped to supplement the lost one, so creatinine level does not increase as well. It is not until more than 50% of kidney function has been impaired that creatinine level begins to increase. Therefore, to keep creatinine level within normal range, you should protect your kidney function to more than 50%.

IgA Nephropathy is caused by IgA immune complexes depositing in the mesangial area of glomeruli. Steroids and other immunosuppressants can block kidney inflammation and slow down their damage to your kidneys, but they can not cleanse those immune complexes from the kidneys. Those immune complexes will remain in the kidneys to impair your kidney function. Immunotherapy can help you make up this disadvantage, because it can cleanse the cycling immune complexes and inflammatory factors from the blood to reduce kidney inflammation. It can also block abnormal immune reaction and increase the kidneys’ tolerance to immune complexes to prevent further kidney damage. Besides, it can strengthen immune system to help you fight against the disease and set up a good blood environment for kidney self-healing. If you start treatment early, it is possible for you to keep creatinine levels within normal range.
