Turmeric And Nephrotic Syndrome

Turmeric And Nephrotic SyndromeTurmeric and Nephrotic Syndrome, what is the relationship between them? If you are a nephrotic syndrome patient but don’t know whether it is good for you, please follow us and we promise this article will help you greatly. Turmeric is a yellow-orange spice widely used in Indian cooking. While there is no evidence that it has any negative effects on the kidneys of healthy people so far. However, it does’t mean turmeric is good for all the people, especially for Nephrotic Syndrome patients.

Is turmeric good for nephrotic syndrome patients?

As we all know that kidneys are one of the important organs in our body and responsible for a lot of functions related closely to our health, such as 1. Produce urine.

2. Keep electrolyte and water balance.

3. Excrete the metabolites inside out body, such as urea, creatinine, organic acid, etc.

4. Secrete some hormones like renins, prostaglandin, erythropoietin, etc.

However, for nephrotic syndrome patients, due to damaged kidney and declined kidney function, the above functions will fail partly. Undoubtedly, patients are asked to pay close attention to every point in their daily life. For example, many foods are off limits to nephrotic syndrome patients because they will aggravate the symptoms of kidney disease.

Phosphorus and potassium

Many kidney disease patients have to limit their intake of phosphorus and potassium because their kidneys no longer effectively clear minerals and wastes from the blood, including nephrotic syndrome patients. It is proved that just 1 tsp of turmeric has 6mg of phosphorus and 56mg of potassium. So if you are a nephrotic syndrome patient as well as suffering from high potassium and phosphorus levels, please limit both of them strictly in your daily diet.

Of course, the answer is not absolute because different people has different conditions. Any follow-up questions about turmeric and Nephrotic Syndrome or you want to know diet, treatment and lifestyle for nephrotic syndrome, please contact us in your free time, we are glad to help everyone.
