Because most Nephrotic Syndrome patients have hyperlipemia. To lower cholesterol level in the blood, you had better restrict the intake of fat, especially saturated fatty acid. But you can consume some unsaturated fatty acid, such as fish oil and flaxseed oil.

Protein, fat and carbohydrate are the main source of energy. Because you limit the intake of protein and fat, you should ensure the intake of carbohydrate to satisfy energy supply. Wheat and corn are good source of carbohydrate.
