As a result, when your kidneys play their role in filtration, lots of protein leak into the urine. This can cause decline of plasma colloid osmotic pressure. Then fluid in the blood vessels flows into the tissue space, leading to severe edema. If the fluid accumulates within the pleural space, pleural effusion occurs. And then you may have symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, fever, and cough.
