How Do You Get Your Proteinuria Levels Down Fast if You Have Nephrotic Syndrome

How Do You Get Your Proteinuria Levels Down Fast if You Have Nephrotic SyndromeMassive proteinuria is a common symptom for Nephrotic Syndrome patients. How do you get your proteinuria levels down fast if you have Nephrotic Syndrome? In the following, you will find the answer.

Control protein intake

Though Nephrotic Syndrome patients lose a lot of protein, they should should control protein intake, because high protein intake can cause high filtration of kidneys so as to worsen proteinuria.

If there is no kidney function impairment yet, you can take 0.8-1.0 g/ (kg.d) high quality protein such as egg white and lean meat. Besides, you should supplement 30-35 kcal/ (kg.d) calory to prevent protein metabolism. If you have kidney function impairment, you should adjust protein intake according to your kidney function.

Western medicine

There are many western medicines to help you lower proteinuria quickly. Steroids can inhibit kidney inflammation so as to control proteinuria. ACEI and ARB can lower the inner pressure of glomeruli so as to reduce proteinuria. Besides, immunosuppressants are also often used to treat proteinuria.

Chinese medicine

Chinese medicine has fewer side effects than western medicine. There are two kinds of Chinese medicine, namely oral Chinese medicine and external therapies. Oral Chinese medicine includes leech, earth worm, ground beeltle, etc. And external therapies include Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy, Moxibustion, Circle Therapy, etc. They are anti-inflammation, anti-coagulation, blood vessel dilation and extracellular matrix degradation. These function can help the damaged kidneys repair themselves.

The above measures often go hand in hand. With systemic treatment, you can not only get your proteinuria levels down, but also get rid of other symptoms, such as edema and anemia. If you can not control proteinuria as early as possible, Nephrotic Syndrome will quickly develop to kidney failure.
