Nephrotic Syndrome Relapse Symptoms in Adults

Nephrotic Syndrome Relapse Symptoms in AdultsOne character of Nephrotic Syndrome is frequent relapse. What symptoms do you have when Nephrotic Syndrome relapses? After reading this article, you will find the answer.

Massive protein leakage

This is the main clinical manifestation of Nephrotic Syndrome. When protein in urine is more than 3.5 g/d, it is massive proteinuria. Because of protein, your urine will become foamy. As we all know, glomerular filtration membrane has molecular barrier and charge barrier, which can retain protein in your body. Due to kidney inflammation, the permeability of filtration membrane increases so that protein leaks into urine.

When massive protein leaks into urine, your liver will work hard to produce albumin. When the synthesis can not make up the lost, you will suffer from hypoproteinemia. For Nephrotic Syndrome patients, their plasma albumin is usually less than 30 g/L. Besides, because of protein leakage, there is not enough protein in body to produce antibodies, C1q and so on, which can impair your immune system. That is why Nephrotic Syndrome patients run a high risk of infections and other aliments.

Severe swelling

Low plasma albumin in blood can decrease the plasma colloid osmosis pressure so that fluid flows into tissue space from blood vessels. That is the main reason of swelling for Nephrotic Syndrome patients. In the early stage, swelling occurs only in eyelid and other places with loose tissue. In some cases, it appears in your hands, feet, legs, ankles, etc. In severe cases, it may appear in chest, lung, etc.

Liver does not only produce albumin, but also lipoprotein. Due to Nephrotic Syndrome, its metabolism reduces so that it is likely for Nephrotic Syndrome patients to have hyperlipemia. It can increase your risk of heart disease so as to threaten your life.

Nephrotic Syndrome is a collection of symptoms rather than a kidney disease, so when it relapses, you will have the above symptoms as well. If you want to reduce its relapse, you should find a way to treat the disease from the root. In China, we use Traditional Chinese Medicine.
