Nephrotic Syndrome and Not Respond to Any Medicine: What Shall I Do

Question: My son is 17 years old and he was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome associated with Minimal Change Disease. However, he does not respond to any of the medicine. Doctors are planning second biopsy in approximately in 2 weeks. What shall I do?

Nephrotic Syndrome and Not Respond to Any Medicine: What Shall I DoAnswer: Biopsy is an invasive test that doctor uses a needle to draw out part of renal tissue so as to know the status of nephrons ( nephrons are the basic units of kidney function). When the result is available, doctor would prescribe some western medicines, such as steroids and immunosuppressants. Those treatment focus on relieving proteinuria rather than repair those renal cells, that is why many patients suffer from relapse. When the body shows resistance to those western medicines, it may indicate those renal cells are developing into sclerosis or the patient is with steroid-resistant Nephrotic Syndrome.

We are a specialized kidney disease hospital. In our hospital, there are some tests, which can help you avoid biopsy, such as test for urinary protein component, test for renal tubule epithelial cells and test for glomerular protein filtration index. After all biopsy makes damage to your kidneys. The characteristic treatment of our hospital is TCM treatment. TCM can make your whole body harmonious and balanced so that your body can fight against the disease by itself. The common used TCM therapies for Nephrotic Syndrome include Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy, Medicated Foot Bath, Mai Kang and decoction. They can expand blood vessels and remove stasis to increase blood flow into the kidneys. They can also offer the damaged kidneys with essential nutrients, such as vitamins, trace elements and amino acids. Moreover, this set of treatment can detoxify the blood and improve blood circulation. When your kidneys get enough blood and nutrients, they begin to repair themselves. There are thousands of therapies and herbs in TCM. According to your medical condition, we will choose the most suitable for you, so you won’t worry that you do not respond to them.

If desired, please send your medical test report to igacure@gmail.com. Our doctor will help you make a treatment plan and then you decide whether you receive our treatment or not.
