Elevated BUN and Nephrotic Syndrome

Elevated BUN and Nephrotic SyndromeThis article aims at introducing two questions: one is the relationship between BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen) level and Nephrotic Syndrome and the second one is how to control elevated BUN with Nephrotic Syndrome.

Relationship between BUN and Nephrotic Syndrome

BUN, short for Blood Urea Nitrogen, is the end product of protein which is the basic of life. Therefore, high protein consumption always cause elevation of BUN level. In normal condition, BUN produced in our life is excreted out of our body through kidney, so a healthy kidney function plays an important role for a normal BUN level.

Nephrotic Syndrome is a kidney problem marked by massive protein in urine. In this illness, kidney function declines with the leakage of protein. Since kidney is responsible for excreting excess BUN in blood, when Nephrotic Syndrome develops to a certain stage, BUN level is elevated.

How to control elevated BUN with Nephrotic Syndrome

In medicine, BUN level is usually measured to reflect kidney function. In general, the higher the BUN level is, the poorer the kidney function is. Elevated BUN level indicates kidney can not function properly, under such a condition, large amounts of toxins will build up in the blood. Therefore, for Nephrotic Syndrome patients, elevated BUN level also means there are lots of toxins in blood.

Since kidney is in charge of excreting urea nitrogen, so strengthening kidney is the key to control BUN level. Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy is a natural treatment for Nephrotic Syndrome patients. It can help to treat elevated BUN not because it can restrain metabolism of protein, but because it can repair kidney damages. We know kidney function declines as kidney tissues are injured and can not function properly. Therefore, when kidney damages are repaired, kidney function is improved as well and also elevated BUN level is brought under control tightly.
