Nephrotic Syndrome: Choice of Treatment Instead of Dialysis

What are the choice of treatment instead of dialysis when Nephrotic Syndrome develops to kidney failure? Many patients with Nephrotic Syndrome are asked to take dialysis or kidney transplant when their illness progresses to kidney failure stage which is diagnosed on the basis of GFR (Glomerular Filtration Membrane) and creatinine level. Dialysis indeed helps to prolong lifespan for these whose kidneys shut down completely and meanwhile fail to find a matched kidney. However, it is not the only treatment option for Nephrotic Syndrome patients who still have some healthy kidney function.

What happens if Nephrotic Syndrome patients refuse to do dialysis?

Dialysis is a must for these with high levels of creatinine which is a waste produced in our body and normally excreted through kidney, because high levels of toxins always indicate serious kidney damages and high levels of toxins in blood. Dialysis is a medical method that can replace failed kidney to remove toxins like creatinine and urea nitrogen in blood. Therefore, with dialysis, internal organs can be protected from being affected by these toxic substances.

For Nephrotic Syndrome patients, if they refuse to do dialysis when illness develops to kidney failure stage, their body systems and organs like gastrointestinal tract, blood system and heart will be damaged. Cardiovascular disease like stroke is very life-threatening and also it is the leading one cause of death among kidney failure patients.

Choice of treatment for patients with Nephrotic Syndrome in advanced stage

If a proper kidney can not be found, dialysis will be the last choice for patients with no healthy kidney function or urine output to stay alive. However, for these who still have urine output or healthy kidney function, they can try Blood Pollution Therapy to improve some kidney function.

Blood Pollution Therapy is a holistic treatment for Nephrotic Syndrome patients and usually suggested for these with very serious illness condition.

Kidney is the organ that helps to keep blood clean, so for these with kidney failure, their blood must be seriously polluted by toxins. Under such a condition, not only other organs can be affected, but also the residual kidney tissues. In Blood Pollution Therapy, different medical methods like plasma exchange, immune adsorption, medicated bath and circle therapy are combined to cleanse blood firstly. After that, according to test reports, some nutritions or elements are given to the blood to recover the clotting mechanism and hematopoietic function of our body, Lastly, Chinese medicines and western medicines are applied to improve kidney function. Through this treatment process, some healthy kidney function can be reverted successfully, because of which, Nephrotic Syndrome patients have a greater chance to avoid dialysis.
