How to Manage Nephrotic SyndromeNephrotic Syndrome is kidney disease with massive proteinuria, heavy swelling, hypoproteinemia and hyperlipemia, which is caused by damage to the glomeruli that filter waste and excess water from blood. How to manage Nephrotic Syndrome?

Symptomatic treatment

Symptomatic treatment is the conventional treatment for Nephrotic Syndrome. It is to control the symptoms you have. For example, diuretics are used to relieve swelling. Steroids and immunosuppressants are used to reduce protein leakage. Statin is used to lower blood sugar level. In short term, those western medicines are very helpful for you to alleviate state of illness. But in long-term, they may have many side effects.

Diet management

Diet plays an important role in consolidating curative effect. For Nephritic Syndrome patients, they should limit the intake of protein, which helps reduce foamy urine. They should also reduce the intake of sodium if they have edema. Moreover, they should restrict the intake of fat and increase the intake of fiber to control blood cholesterol level. And they should also add more fresh vegetables and fruits into diet.

Have a good rest

Nephrotic Syndrome patients should have a good rest, because overwork decreases your immune system so as to cause Nephrotic Syndrome relapses. But they can still do some gentle exercise to improve their medical condition.

4M treatment

In long-term, 4M treatment (Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy, Medicated Bath, Mai Kang Composition and Medical Soup) can help you repair the damaged kidneys and improve kidney function, because they can cleanse blood, decompose immune complexes in the kidneys, reduce blood pressure, lower cholesterol level so as to set up a good blood environment for kidney self-healing.
