Treatment for Refractory Nephrotic Syndrome

Treatment for Steroid-resistant Nephrotic SyndromeName: Gao Yuncai

Gender: Female

Symptoms: Swelling in eyelid and legs and protein in urine 3+

Diagnosis: Primary Nephrotic Syndrome

Treatment before coming to our hospital

Five years ago, because of colds, she had swelling in eyelid and legs. And the swelling was very severe in the morning. Therefore, she went to the local hospital to have a test. And then she was diagnosed with primary Nephrotic Syndrome. The doctor prescribed prednisone acetate tablets 45 mg per day. After a month of treatment, the symptoms did not improve at all. Therefore, she gave up treatment and go to another big hospital.

In this hospital, she received a treatment that combines western medicine like prednisone acetate tablets and Chinese patent medicine like Jinshuibao Capsule and Huangkui Capsule. After 12 days’ treatment, all symptoms she had were under control. After discharging from hospital, she took medicines on time and 2 months’ later she reduced the dosage of prednisone acetate tablets to 42.5 mg per day. Symptoms such as swelling appeared again. Later because of fatigue, Nephrotic Syndromes came back again.

This time she went to another kidney disease institute to receive treatment. After 2 months’ treatment, Nephrotic Syndrome was controlled clinically. But it comes back from time to time.

After treatment in our hospital

After being admitted to our hospital, our doctors kept the original treatment plan. But the difference is that we add our characteristic treatment, namely Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy, Medicated Bath, Mai Kang and decoction. Our treatment can draw out toxins from the blood. They can also dilate blood vessels and speed up blood circulation to remove stasis and increase blood flow into the kidneys. Besides, they can decompose immune complexes deposited in the kidneys to eliminate kidney inflammation. All in all, our treatment can set up a good blood environment so that the active ingredients of medicine can reach the nidus and take effect. Now her disease is controlled very well without worrying about the relapse of Nephrotic Syndrome.
